Best and Worst Crossover SUVs on the Market

Best and Worst Crossover SUVs on the Market

Are you looking for a new crossover? Or are you interested in the newest models? Nearly every make now has a subcompact crossover SUV, but they aren't all made equal. Here are some of the best and worst crossover SUVs available today.

The Best Crossover SUVs

  • Nissan Murano. Winner of the "2017 Best 2-Row SUV for the Money" award in US News, the Nissan Murano blends style, technology, and performance into a single affordable package. The Murano is powered by a fuel-efficient V6 engine. It's one of the best options for those who need space for multiple passengers and cargo.
  • Ford Edge. The Ford Edge is considered to be one of the best vehicles available for families. With advanced and active safety features, a large interior, and solid safety ratings, the Ford Edge is a vehicle you can trust with your most prized possessions — your family.
  • Toyota Highlander. The Toyota Highlander has been an incredibly popular model for years. The Highlander has large seating for the first couple of rows, with a bit smaller seating for the third row. This makes it perfect for transporting multiple adults with children. With above-average fuel economy, it's the perfect driver for vacations and everyday use.

  • Mazda CX-5. With a large infotainment screen and innovative new cabin technology, the Mazda CX-5 is fantastic for those who want a touch of sporty luxury in their crossovers. The only downside to this vehicle is a slightly less powerful than the average engine.
  • Hyundai Tucson. A large cabin and excellent handling make the Hyundai Tucson a joy to drive. It isn't as luxurious as some of the other options, but it is one of the most affordable crossover SUVs available and has a lot of optional features available.

The Worst Crossover SUVs

  • Chevrolet Trax. Though there's nothing particularly bad about the Chevrolet Trax, there's also nothing particularly good about it. The Chevrolet Trax has an underpowered 138 HP engine, and though it has a lot of tech, its handling isn't fantastic.
  • Toyota CH-R. Neither Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is available in the Toyota CH-R. Though it has a lot of external safety tech, the internal infotainment system needs some work.
  • Honda HR-V. The Honda HR-V has a lot of extras, ranging from safety to infotainment features. However, it is definitely a budget SUV, with impressive features for its class.
